Nigel Brown

Nigel is an elite USPTA tennis professional with over 25 yrs of high performance training experience.  Growing up in Australia he played several sports at a state level, training and learning with some of the best coaches in Australia.  Although starting tennis late he played at a junior state level and competed in adult Satellite tournaments around Australia.
Moving into the coaching world was a way to follow his passion for sport and the science behind it.  Studying Fitness and Recreational leadership he became certified as a coach for Soccer, Baseball, Hockey, Fitness instructor, and even Aerobics.  Although aerobics may have been the least used certification.
Working as the Territory Junior Development officer he worked on the integration of a tennis program in local schools as part of the Australian National pathway for player development.  Staying ahead of the curve the same program has evolved players like Nick Kyrgios who still returns to Canberra to train.
Since moving permanently to the USA he has contributed and implemented play based adult and junior programs at many of the indoor and outdoor clubs in CT and NY.
As Director of the Yonkers Tennis Center the 10/U modified practice and tournaments were used as a template for the USTA Quick start program rolled out to the rest of the country.
Nigel is currently the Director of The Leewood Golf Club during the summer season.
Always looking to have fun and experiment with new creative training techniques Nigel is excited to play and learn with the Vista tennis community.
